Citizen: 'A member of a state or nation'. Citizenship Foundation (2012)
We are all have a number of citizenship identities. We are citizens of our school, citizens of our local area, and citizens of our country and of the world.

Active Citizen: A desire/ passion to change something in your local community, country or world. And to take action.
Society: A group of people who share a particulary laws, trandition and customs that accompany a country a time period or a place.
Merriam Webster (2014) Direct Action: 'Directly acting to create the change you wish to see in the world.' For example taking part in a march. Eric (2009)
Indirect Action: Asking someone else (often someone in a position of power) to make the change you wish to see in the world. For example signing a petition. Eric (2009)
Lobbying: 'Lobbying is the practice of individuals and organisations trying to influence the opinions of MPs and Lords. Methods of lobbying vary and can range from sending letters, making presentations, providing briefing material to Members and organised rallies.'
